Lisbon Studios is a family-run boutique guesthouse in the heart of Baixa-Chiado. Eight exclusive studios, carefully designed inside a restored Pombaline building, where the historic charm of Lisbon meets contemporary comfort and a warm welcome.
Lisbon Studios was born out of a couple’s love for the city, two travellers who arrived in Lisbon, fell for it, and decided to stay. It is a story we know can happen again inside our small space. For that to be possible, we want to offer the people who visit us a more authentic, personal, intimate and quiet experience. Each studio and suite has been renovated with attention to detail, preserving the original Pombaline architecture and weaving in contemporary design elements meant to create a serene, welcoming atmosphere. Fully equipped kitchens, private jacuzzis, Lisbon-style balconies and soft, elegant interiors are all part of an experience designed to make you feel truly at home.
We are a small family operation, and we believe that hospitality lives in the small details and in human closeness.

The family behind Lisbon Studios
We are not a chain. We are a small family running eight studios in one building on Rua dos Fanqueiros, and we live three minutes away. When you arrive in Lisbon, you can call us. When you forget a charger or you want to know where the bakery opens early, you can ask. That answer comes from a person, not a help desk.
We started operating the studios in 2018, after two years of careful interior design work. We chose every tile, every mattress, every kettle. We do not outsource cleaning to a faceless operator. The same three people have been looking after the studios since 2019.

Frequently asked questions
- What time is check-in and check-out? add
- Self check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. You’ll receive a code by WhatsApp 24 hours before arrival, so you can come in anytime, even at midnight after a late flight from Lisbon airport.
- Can I cancel my reservation? add
- Yes. Bookings made directly with us include free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. After that, the first night is charged. We never apply hidden fees.
- Is there parking nearby? add
- Yes, but always paid. The closest public parking lots are Parking Praça do Comércio (3 min walk) and Parking Chão do Loureiro (5 min walk), with typical rates between €1.50 and €2.50 per hour or roughly €15 to €25 per day depending on the lot. Street parking in Baixa-Chiado is very limited and almost always paid (EMEL), so we recommend the lots.
- Are pets allowed? add
- No, we’re sorry. Out of respect for other guests and given the characteristics of the Pombaline building, we do not accept pets in any of the studios. Guide dogs and assistance animals are, of course, welcome.
- How far is Lisbon airport? add
- Lisbon airport (LIS) is 20 minutes by taxi or Uber (≈ €15), or 30 minutes by metro: red line to Alameda, then green line to Baixa-Chiado station, 100 m from our building.
- Is the building accessible? add
- The building is historic and Pombaline, without an elevator. Access is by stairs: studios are spread across the 1st floor (Stunning, Shining, Cozy, Beautiful, Amazing) and the 2nd floor (Wonderful, Romantic, Fantastic). We do not hold an official accessibility certification. If accessibility is a priority for you, please contact us before booking so we can find the best option together.
- How fast is the Wi-Fi? add
- Fibre, 200 Mbps symmetric. Reliable enough for video calls, large file transfers and streaming in 4K. Wi-Fi 6 router. Password printed on the welcome card inside the studio.
- Can I check in early or check out late? add
- Standard check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Early check-in and late check-out depend on the cleaning schedule of the studio. Ask us by WhatsApp 24 hours before arrival. Late check-out until 13:00 is free when the studio is not booked the same day. Beyond that we may charge half a night.
- Can you store my luggage before check-in or after check-out? add
- Yes, for free. Drop your bags in the storage room of the building anytime between 09:00 and 20:00 the day of arrival or departure. We share the code by WhatsApp the morning of your stay.
- Is the city tax included? add
- No. The Lisbon municipal tax is €2 per person per night, capped at 7 nights, and children under 13 are exempt. We collect it on arrival in cash or via QR-code payment. It is not part of the room rate so the price you see at booking is the room price.
- Are the studios family-friendly? Cots, high chairs? add
- Three of the eight studios sleep up to three guests (Romantic, Wonderful and Amazing). We provide a travel cot and a high chair free of charge, just ask 48 hours before arrival. For families of four we recommend the Amazing Studio (50 m²) as the most spacious.
- Is there a kitchen in every studio? add
- Yes, with different levels. The studios have a full or integrated kitchen with induction hob, oven, fridge, kettle and full cookware. The two suites (Beautiful, Cozy) share a kitchen on the building floor that is yours to use, with espresso machine and complimentary tea, coffee and water.
- Do you have heating? Is it cold inside in winter? add
- Yes, every studio has reverse-cycle air conditioning that heats and cools. Buildings in Lisbon are not generally insulated like in northern Europe, but the 70 cm Pombaline stone walls keep a stable temperature. Most guests in January and February tell us the studio felt warmer than their hotel room.
- Where do you recommend eating nearby? add
- Two minutes away: O Trevo for grilled fish at lunch (no reservations, queue at 12:30 for a table at 13:00). Five minutes uphill: Taberna da Rua das Flores in Chiado for dinner (no bookings, arrive at 19:30). Ten minutes away: Pinóquio for traditional Portuguese seafood. We send a list of 20+ places by WhatsApp once you confirm your stay.
- How quiet are the studios? add
- The 70 cm stone walls do most of the work. Inside the studio it is quiet. The street outside (Rua dos Fanqueiros) is a normal central Lisbon street with pedestrians and the occasional delivery van. After 22:00 it is very quiet. Two of the studios face the inner courtyard and are exceptionally silent (Cozy, Stunning).
- What happens if there is a problem during my stay? add
- WhatsApp us. We answer within minutes, day or night. Three of us live three minutes away and can be on site within 15 minutes for anything that needs a human. We have replacement kettles, heaters, towels and chargers in the storage room on the same floor.
